Professional speaker Akash Karia provides readers with a valuable tool that every professional should have. This useful 41-page book includes the following nine chapters: 1. In summary, I enjoyed this appetizer. Mr. Karia provides the readers with a succinct guide on how to provide a great TED talk. It’s useful and to the point. It lacks details but it gives you enough to whet your appetite. Perfect quick read in the subway, I recommend it.

The author tells us that he studied 200 of the best TED talks in order to learn "What Makes a Great TED Talk ?"

A TED Talk is limited to 18 minutes, so each speaker only has time to give the audience ONE takeaway message. How can the speaker give a short talk, and inspire his audience to LISTEN to him? The speaker must capture the audience's attention in the first 30 seconds, or else they will be bored.

How do all great TED Talk speakers do this? Read the book. It is all there.

If you are a salesman, or if you are going to give a speech, you must read this book. Not only will you learn what to tell your customer or audience in the first 30 seconds, you will also learn techniques that will help you of how and what to tell them in the next 17 minutes so that they will listen to your story and buy it.

Best ever!!!! Thorough, complete, straight to the point without fluff. Nothing like it anywhere! The computer educational protocols for hospitals don't even come close to what is in this book. This book helped a couple of my friends and I pass clinical and the NCLEX-RN back in the day. I still use it as a reference in everyday practice and each edition just gets better and better. Also, it arrived very quickly in perfect condition every time!

Useful Information with a Well Done Layout

I am about to graduate from Northeastern and this was the book for one of my final elective courses, Consumer Behavior. I run several websites so it is absolutely critical to me to understand how web visitors think about content, make selections, and build affinities with brands. The book provided wonderful information in all areas.

The book is full color and provides a wealth of examples of ads, labels, and other material so you can understand what is being presented. You can see visually how some styles of promotions draw users in, while others repel the users to convince them to stop doing something (for example, using drugs). The book uses real life stories mixed in with theoretical explanations to help you explain the concepts.

There is a good mix of cross-cultural information, to help readers understand how marketing to an American audience differs from marketing to the Chinese, for example. It also delves thoroughly into sub cultures, from African Americans to tweens to Harley riders. It discusses the challenges of narrowing down social class in our mobile society. It discusses how buyers have ongoing "wars" in their heads between the rational decision making process and the emotion-driven pleasure center.

I enjoyed the book immensely and found much of its material immediately valuable for my daily work. I imagine most people who read this will find it helpful, if not for what they do for a living, then in how they themselves are being marketed to and are making decisions.

I have a minor "factual" issue I'd like to point out. On page 535 the author perpetuates the myth that we don't throw rice at weddings now because it makes birds' stomachs' explode. This absolutely is NOT TRUE. Birds eat rice naturally and their bodies deal with it fine, even when it's not cooked. There were no rice cookers in nature :). The reason churches asked people to stop throwing rice is that it's a royal pain to clean up.

So, that point aside, I do recommend the book.

I purchased this book with my own funds to take my class.

This book offers a beautiful perspective of the consumer's world with real world examples and lots of pictures for us visual folks. The author itself has a lucid writing style which enables him to flow through the book and making it seamless to read. There are a lot of " Haha " moments and included are real world facts and stats that will surprise you if you did not already know. This book is Good Game.

The book is composed by 25 chapters which seem to be done by different authors with no coordination at all.

Horrible job of editing/proofreading

When I got the book I opened it to the C Coding Standard appendix which was given such a glowing review. What I found was a total mess. It appears that some word processor tried to change the fixed spacing font of the code examples to a proportional font, altering the recommended 4 space indents to variable (or even negative) spaces. In the discussion of spacing there is no mention of use of vertical spacing for readability, and in all the examples the line spacing seems to randomly change between single or double. And throughout the book it doesn't appear that there was an effort to present code examples in this or any single style.

Perhaps I'll find value in the book, but it hasn't started out well.

A few good chapters inside a very poorly edited book

The book has a few great chapters, well organised with good relative content.

But is let down massively by the editors.

Unfortunately any chapter written by Robert Oshana is vague, repetitive, organised, full of errors and gives ridiculously complex examples.

The table of contents often gives incorrect page numbers.

Many of the images throughout the book are unreadable due to size, the lack of colour and the image resolution.

Diagrams frequently have mistakes, or don't make 100% sense.

I honestly don't think the book was proof read at all once printed - this is by far the worst finished book I have ever read.

About the Author

Bob Bates was a Senior Executive in the civil service for twenty years. During this time, he also worked as a staff trainer and coach and mentor to people with disabilities. He then set up his own Management & Training Consultancy (The Arundel Group), which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. His work as a management consultant covered a number of local and central government projects as well as working as a trainer with major UK private sector companies.

In the late 1990s Bob started a lecturing career, during which time he gained two Masters Degrees in management and education and a PhD in Education. He has taught over 1000 teachers and trainers on graduate and post-graduate programmes at two universities. He currently manages and teaches on City & Guild Award, Certificate and Diploma courses in a Community College

This is Bob’s third book. His first, The Little Book of BIG Management Theories written with Jim McGrath was on W.H, Smiths’ non-fiction best sellers list for nearly a year, is being translated into 10 languages and was chosen by the Chartered Management Institute as Practical Management Book of the Year for 2014. His second book The Little Book of BIG Coaching Theories was published in February 2015.

Bob shares his time these days between writing, working voluntarily for a charity that promotes health and education in the Gambia, researching into offender learning and teaching Adult Education Teachers.

In the book Samantha and Brandon are awaken to different forms of protest by their parents, who explain the noise that woke them the night before. Community people, they say, were protesting community problems. The reading level of the Braswell book is first grade and includes information about protest marches, demonstrations and civil disobedience. One Trader's Salvation

After trading full time for about 2 years, I was just about to give up and throw in the towel. I had to face the bare facts: I was losing money, plain and simple.

"What had I done wrong?" I was asking myself. "Haven't I read just about all the trading books everyone is supposed to read? Haven't I tried just about every trading system imaginable? Don't I truly have the passion for trading? Haven't I had several fairly long and satisfying winning streaks?" The answer was definitely yes, yes, yes, and YES again to all these questions. So, how come I'm not making it? That was the REAL QUESTION.

Then I heard about Vadym's new book, The Master Profit Plan. Intriguing title, I thought, so I bought a copy. And, to my pleasant surprise, after reading just the first few pages, NEW HOPE was already springing up in my heart. Here is finally a book that is NOT about how to implement somebody else's system, but rather a book about how to design and implement your own system! My own system! What a novel idea! The more I read, the more excited I became. I began to realize that the missing ingredient needed for my own success was to GET TO KNOW MY OWN SELF! What are my talents? My limitations? How much time do I have for trading? How much do I need to make on a daily basis? How much can I afford to risk per trade? Am I scalper by nature, or is swing trading better for me? Or maybe it's a combination of the two? Do I like breakout plays, or am I more comfortable with reversals? What data do I really need to track in my daily journal?

The author helps you answer all these questions, and many more, through the ingenious use of flowcharts (Mind Maps) that will help you quickly and easily map your own plan. There is much more to the book, with topics ranging from trading psychology to basic technical and fundamental analysis. And as a bonus, there are several real life success stories from other traders who have "found themselves" and are trading their own unique plan.

AND FINALLY, as for me, I've been trading successfully for several months now, and with a plan that is unique to me. Vadym Graifer's The Master Profit Plan has truly been this trader's salvation. Thank you for writing this book, Vadym.

I wish that this had been the first or second book I read about daytrading for a living. It would have saved me alot of money.

Daytrading, at least for me, is tape reading, plain and simple. The book stresses that. Erase the outside noise and watch the tape. If your right, great, if not get out fast (no hard feelings, it's not personal).

Also, as discussed throughout the book, I finally forced myself to set up a written trading plan. I read it every morning prior to trading. It has helped re-inforce my discipline.

Very good book for daytraders. Especially liked the stories from actual traders. Seems many of us go through the same problems.

Think of it as a college 101 survey course

Think of this book as a 101 introductory course in college. It's the basics pulled together in one place. The author introduces the reader to all the necessary facets of trading from the psychological to the tactical and administrative aspects, as well as a bibliography of significant trading texts all traders should read, if not have in their library.

Instead of wading through the myriad websites and books out there, start here. It ain't practice makes perfect. Perfect practice makes perfect.

This book will keep the aspiring trader from developing some bad habits that can later be hard, as well as EXPEN$IVE to break, and help the struggling trader clean up his methods and approach. It will guide you through "first things first", and how to prioritize and define the steps in your development. It gives you a roadmap to get from point A to point B, so you don't have to figure out the map for yourself.

This book is not for the advanced trader looking to broaden his toolkit, unless he/she is looking for a good basic review manual, which frankly, is a good idea to have.

A Visual History of the Convair B-36 "Peacemaker" Conceived during WWII, and first flown on 8 August 1946, seven decades later the Convair B-36 remains the largest bomber in the world. The requirements for the aircraft that became the B-36 were born out of concern about the German advances in Europe. The US Army Air Corps issued a requirement for a very long-range heavy bomber-an aircraft capable of striking targets in Europe from bases in North America. Due to changing needs, the aircraft was not fully developed until after the end of WWII. Despite its original role, the operational B-36 quickly became the mainstay of the cold war U.S. Air Force strategic bomber arm. This title provides extensive photographic coverage of the aircraft in all stages of its development, production and deployment.
