First let me say that I am a big Ali Vali fan. I buy her books the day they're released and I have never been disappointed with any of her work until now. The writing and editing are as always, far and away...well above average....but the story and main two characters of the "Romance Vote" are dull and tedious. I had a difficult time finishing the book. I kept waiting for something to happen....some kind of spark or anything to liven things up, but it just didn't happen. I'm sorry to say that the "Romance Vote" does not get my vote....it's flat out boring.

The book started off promising though didn't deliver. The romance was pleasant enough but it was just a very average read. The subject could have made it so much more exciting. I prefer more depth in a plot.

I could not finish this book.

I have read everyone of Ali's books and I loved almost all of them. The Romance Vote however, I struggled within the first 6 pages. I was lost, and I did not understand what was talking. So, I set it aside. I assumed that it was not the read for me at that moment. I picked it back up, and started from page one. I got to page 9 and I put it down again. I was shocked to see the run on sentences, and the few missing punctuation. I cannot finish the book. I am sure there is a story in there somewhere, but I am struggling to follow the story. I will not let this sway me from purchasing her books in the future, but I will read the teaser first from here on out.

This was a great read. I found it very good. The author did a wonderful job holding my attention, I don't as a rule read romance novels but it was suggested to me from a friend. I loved it.

I have always loved anything to do with ghosts, so this naturally grabbed my attention right away. The interactions between the main character and the spirit were my favorite scenes! And the part with the jealous boyfriend had me on the edge of my seat. On top of that, by the time you finish, you will wish you had a friendship like Harrison's and Mich's. Read, read, read!

Harrison’s case of writer’s block is suddenly cured after hearing a beautiful and mysterious woman singing in a run-down hotel. He learns her story then writes his best book ever, which leads to dilemmas both good and bad for several key characters.
You know a story is good when you want to reach through your Kindle and slap some sense into the protagonist! Harrison is not perfect; sometimes irritating but always interesting. There are mysteries to solve, problems to take care of, and hard choices to make. A fun read for mature readers.

Excellent book!

This book is so well written. Maybe it is the best textbook on introductory econometrics. The authors manage to present even the demanding issues (heteroskedasticity, autocorrelation etc.) as something not so complex. The explanation of every issue is exhaustive (with many examples) and very good.

The book is not an advanced econometrics textbook like Greene's textbook or Wooldridge's advanced textbook, but is an excellent book for beginners. Also, an advantage of this textbook is that there are some serious time series analysis chapters. Its drawback is that there is no matrix algebra, so the multiple regression model analysis is not so generalized.

I definitely recommend this book!

Just a rehash of his book

This is just a rehash of ideas much better articulated in his Easyway book on quitting smoking, which I gave 5 stars. This looks like a way for the author to make a few more bucks. Kind of shameful because there is nothing new here, and the bigger book is what will help you stop, not this Cliff-notes version.

So skip this one and buy the Easyway book on how to quit smoking, which is excellent.

This book helped me stop smoking!

After 25 years of smoking, I read Allen Carr's Easy Way to Stop Smoking book in 1 day and quit! That was a month ago! The first week I thought about smoking a lot, so I bought this book- the Little Book of Quitting, to have all the highlights of the big book in a short format! It worked! Read the Easy Way to stop smoking book first, then this book and you can live smoke free! I am soooo happy!

About the Author
Kenneth Frampton is an internationally respected architectural critic who holds the Ware Professorship at the Graduate School of Architecture and Planning, Columbia University, New York. He lectures extensively in the US and Europe, and has also written, edited and contributed to numerous publications on contemporary architecture. He is the author of Modern Architecture: A Critical History (1980; revised 1985 and 1992) and Studies in Tectonic Culture (1997). His collected essays Labour, Work and Architecture are published by Phaidon.

Very Good Overview

If you want to get a fine overview of Siza's works, this book might be just fine. It inculdes a short presentation of all of his works, the major buildings are featured more extensively. There are plenty of Siza's beautiful sketches and abstract line drawings might clarify his projects sufficiently (how could the editor oversee that the faculty of Porto is mirrored?). It is remarkable that most of the photos do not present the the projects in the just finished state, but how they look like right now, making plain how gracefully Siza's buildings get older. I have to agree that Le Croquis might show his major buildings more in depth and documents far more Siza's own point of view with two long interviews, however this edition is for sure worth the money.

The Most Comprehensive Monograph of Alvaro Siza Pubshed

Fernando Tavora called Alvaro Siza "a genuine builder of works of gravity". This impressive (620 pages) monumental volume by well respected architectural scholar -Kenneth Frampton- contains all of Siza's work from 1952-1999 with beautiful photographs,drawings, and sketches to complement author's in-depth writing. This is by far the best monograph of Alvaro Siza, and a must have if one wants to thoroughly understand his work.

A good book of the architect of the moment!

Some people say Siza is the architect of the white! Probably, if whe can understand that the white colour of his facades is the consequence of his absolutly control of plans and forms. He is a genius! This book is a good way to show almost all works of Siza. For me there is only one book that is better than this one: "Alvaro Siza - the book, from ElCroquis".But anyway, buy this book if you want to understand the genius of Alvaro Siza.
