About the Author
Originally from Cuba, Ali Vali has retained much of her family’s traditions and language and uses them frequently in her stories. Having her father read her stories and poetry before bed every night as a child infused her with a love of reading, which carries till today. She has discovered that living in Louisiana and running a non-profit provides plenty of material to draw from in creating her novels and short stories. Ali currently lives in Louisiana.

No vote from me....

First let me say that I am a big Ali Vali fan. I buy her books the day they're released and I have never been disappointed with any of her work until now. The writing and editing are as always, far and away...well above average....but the story and main two characters of the "Romance Vote" are dull and tedious. I had a difficult time finishing the book. I kept waiting for something to happen....some kind of spark or anything to liven things up, but it just didn't happen. I'm sorry to say that the "Romance Vote" does not get my vote....it's flat out boring.

The book started off promising though didn't deliver. The romance was pleasant enough but it was just a very average read. The subject could have made it so much more exciting. I prefer more depth in a plot.

I could not finish this book.

I have read everyone of Ali's books and I loved almost all of them. The Romance Vote however, I struggled within the first 6 pages. I was lost, and I did not understand what was talking. So, I set it aside. I assumed that it was not the read for me at that moment. I picked it back up, and started from page one. I got to page 9 and I put it down again. I was shocked to see the run on sentences, and the few missing punctuation. I cannot finish the book. I am sure there is a story in there somewhere, but I am struggling to follow the story. I will not let this sway me from purchasing her books in the future, but I will read the teaser first from here on out.
