"Palast is astonishing, he gets the real evidence no one else has the guts to dig up." Vincent Bugliosi, author of None Dare Call it Treason and Helter Skelter

Award-winning investigative journalist Greg Palast digs deep to unearth the ugly facts that few reporters working anywhere in the world today have the courage or ability to cover. From East Timor to Waco, he has exposed some of the most egregious cases of political corruption, corporate fraud, and financial manipulation in the US and abroad. His uncanny investigative skills as well as his no-holds-barred style have made him an anathema among magnates on four continents and a living legend among his colleagues and his devoted readership.

This excitingcollection, now revised and updated, brings together some of Palast's most powerful writing of the past decade. Included here are his celebrated Washington Post expos on Jeb Bush and Katherine Harris's stealing of the presidential election in Florida, and recent stories on George W. Bush's payoffs to corporate cronies, the payola behind Hillary Clinton, and the faux energy crisis. Also included in this volume are new and previously unpublished material, television transcripts, photographs, and letters.

From Publishers Weekly
Whether one believes Katherine Harris’s claim that Palast’s conclusions are "twisted and maniacally partisan" or Tribune Magazine’s declaration that he is "the greatest investigative reporter of our time," one thing is plain: Palast does not shy away from controversy. This collection of reports touches on a number of familiar topics, including Enron, the presidential election of 2000 and the Bush family’s purported connection to Saudi Arabia. These issues have been explored in more depth by other authors, but what makes this audiobook so entertaining is its all-star anti-administration cast, including Al Franken, Janeane Garofalo and Jim Hightower. All of the readings are well-executed, but the full plate of narrators can cause confusion. It’s unclear how the text is divided up amongst the readers, and at any moment, a new chapter may begin with a new, unidentified voice. Despite the guessing-game nature of the audio presentation, this is still a fun, provocative listen.

Just Cut to the Chase
By J. C. Romero
I doubt that my rating and comment is among the majority of the readers, although quite a bit of research went into gathering the facts. My comment is based on my personal dislike of writers giving me the same facts over and over again.. Yes, there were some investigations/findings that I was not aware of, and/or had forgotten when they were first exposed by the media, but telling them to me once would have been enough.

Solid work from one of the last of the true "investigative journalists"
By Jeff Maziarek, author of Codi's Journey
While it's been years since I read this book, I can clearly recall that I found great value in it. Not sure what Palast is doing these days, but when he wrote this book and others that followed it there's no doubt in my mind that he could be one of the top 10 best investigative journalists of all time. He doesn't sell out his principles, and always showed the courage to dig deep for the real truth as opposed to the "press release" journalism that is commonly practiced these days. My hat's off to Mr. Palast for his moxey, his character, and his commitment to doing something to make this a better world.

The truth is there for all to see
By Guillermo Rocha
Greg Palast uncovers the truth and exposes it without siding or leaning with any political party. This is what true journalism is, we have too many "news programs" digesting the news for us and showing us their interpretations about what really matters. Most journalists nowadays are afraid to expose blatant injustices perpetrated by our government because those news are not what sales to the lethargic majority. Because this disinterest politicians made decisions for us that favors their pockets without any benefit to the communities and the people who they represent. We criticize other countries for being corrupt, meanwhile here corruption also reaches the highest levels of government, the only difference is that here we change the laws to make corruption "legal".
